Our pop-up free stores are temporary setups where anyone can come and take what they need at no cost. Stocked with donations from the community, these stores offer clothing, shoes, school supplies, and household items. The goal is to redistribute unused items to those in need, especially when financial constraints make purchases difficult.
Inflation has made basic needs like back-to-school clothing expensive. Even thrift store prices have risen, with coats now costing $12.99. Our free stores alleviate financial stress by providing essential items at no cost. This fosters a spirit of generosity and supports sustainability through reuse.
At This Old Frat House, we believe in community and giving back. Hosting pop-up free stores allows us to support our neighbors and create a positive impact. It aligns with our values of hospitality, care, and community spirit.
Inspired by the Buy Nothing Project, a global movement encouraging free giving and receiving, we saw an opportunity to implement this in our community. It’s about building connections and supporting each other through shared generosity.
Together, we can make a difference and support each other through these challenging times.
